June 6th P&F Results in Sonoma CountyLocal CandidatesState SenateThere are no Peace and Freedom Party candidates for State Senate in Sonoma County. U.S. House of RepresentativesTim Stock of West Sacramento is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 1st Congressional District, which includes the eastern portion of Sonoma County (including Cloverdale, Healdsburg, Windsor and part of Sonoma), as well as all of Del Norte, Humboldt, Mendocino, Lake and Napa counties, and the southern half of Yolo County. He received 21 votes in Sonoma County, of 168 in the entire district. State AssemblyThere are no Peace and Freedom Party candidates for State Assembly in Sonoma County. Local Non-partisan OfficesThe webmaster is not aware of any endorsements by the Sonoma County Peace and Freedom Party organization of any candidates for local non-partisan offices which were voted on in the June 6th primary election. Peace and Freedom Party Central CommitteesTwo members of the Peace and Freedom Party Central Committees were elected from Sonoma County in 2004. Two people, Toni Novak and Irv Sutley, were on the ballot for Central Committees in Sonoma County in the June 2006 primary election, and the election was open for write-ins, but the webmaster is not aware of any write-in candidates from the county who ran for Central Committees. Final results of the Central Committees election were not available on the website of the Sonoma County Registrar of Voters, but presumably the two candidates on the ballot were elected. Local MeasuresThe webmaster is not aware of any positions taken by the Sonoma County Peace and Freedom Party organization on any county, municipal or regional measures that were on the ballot June 6th in Sonoma County. Regional CandidateDave Campbell is running for Board of Equalization in the 1st Board of Equalization District, which includes all of Sonoma County. He received 159 votes in Sonoma County, of 1,508 in the entire district. Statewide CandidatesThe slate of Peace and Freedom Party candidates for statewide partisan public offices are:
The Peace and Freedom Party also recommended a vote for Sarah Knopp for Superintendent of Public Instruction. She is a teacher and a socialist, though not a P&F member, who came in second of five candidates with 695,372 votes (17.3%) statewide for this nominally non-partisan position. In Sonoma County, she got 20,459 votes (20.6%). Statewide MeasuresThere were two propositions on the statewide ballot June 6th, assigned proposition numbers 81 and 82. At its April 1st-2nd State Central Committee meeting, the Peace and Freedom Party took a position on one of measures.
