June 6th P&F Results in Santa Clara CountyLocal CandidatesState SenateThere are no Peace and Freedom Party candidates for State Senate in Santa Clara County. U.S. House of RepresentativesDina Padilla ran as a write-in candidate for the Peace and Freedom Party nomination for House of Representatives in the 11th Congressional District, which includes eastern portions of Santa Clara County (including Morgan Hill but not Gilroy in the south, and only rural areas further north), as well as parts of Alameda County, south-central and northeastern parts of Contra Costa County, and almost all of San Joaquin County. She received 0 votes in Santa Clara County, of 1 in the entire district. State AssemblyThere are no Peace and Freedom Party candidates for State Assembly in Santa Clara County. Local Non-partisan OfficesThe webmaster is not aware of any endorsements by the Santa Clara County Peace and Freedom Party organization of any candidates for local non-partisan offices which were voted on in the June 6th primary election. Peace and Freedom Party Central CommitteesNo members of the Peace and Freedom Party Central Committees were elected from Santa Clara County in 2004. The webmaster is not aware of any candidates only for Central Committees from the county who ran in the June 2006 primary election, but Liz Barron became a member of the Central Committees when she was nominated for Controller (though she has since moved to another county). Local MeasuresThe webmaster is not aware of any positions taken by the Santa Clara County Peace and Freedom Party organization on any county, municipal or regional measures that were on the ballot June 6th in Santa Clara County. Regional CandidateDave Campbell is running for Board of Equalization in the 1st Board of Equalization District, which includes all of Santa Clara County. He received 180 votes in Santa Clara County, of 1,508 in the entire district. Statewide CandidatesThe slate of Peace and Freedom Party candidates for statewide partisan public offices are:
The Peace and Freedom Party also recommended a vote for Sarah Knopp for Superintendent of Public Instruction. She is a teacher and a socialist, though not a P&F member, who came in second of five candidates with 695,372 votes (17.3%) statewide for this nominally non-partisan position. In Santa Clara County, she got 37,177 votes (18.3%). Statewide MeasuresThere were two propositions on the statewide ballot June 6th, assigned proposition numbers 81 and 82. At its April 1st-2nd State Central Committee meeting, the Peace and Freedom Party took a position on one of measures.
