June 6th P&F Results in Santa Barbara CountyLocal Candidates and MeasuresThere are no local Peace and Freedom Party candidates for public partisan offices in Santa Barbara County, and the webmaster for this website is not aware of any endorsements by the local Peace and Freedom Party organization of ballot measures or other candidates that were on the June 6th ballot. Regional CandidatesThough there are no local Peace and Freedom Party candidates in Santa Barbara County, there are candidates in both of the Board of Equalization districts within the county. Dave Campbell of San Francisco is running for Board of Equalization in the 1st Board of Equalization District, which includes costal portions of Santa Barbara County (specifically, Guadalupe, Santa Maria (but not Orcutt), Isla Vista, Mission Oaks, and Santa Barbara (but not Goleta or Montecito)), as well as the rest of the coast north to the Oregon border. He received 17 votes in Santa Barbara County, of 1,508 in the entire district. Richard Perry of Sacramento is running for Board of Equalization in the 2nd Board of Equalization District, which includes inland and eastern portions of Santa Barbara County (specifically, Orcutt (but not Santa Maria), Vandenberg Village, Mission Hills, Lompoc, Los Alamos, Buellton, Solvang, Santa Ynez, Goleta and Montecito (but not Santa Barbara) and other points north or east of these cities and towns), as well as Ventura County, northern Los Angeles County, part of the southwestern corner of San Bernardino County, and inland areas north to the Oregon border. He received 25 votes in Santa Barbara County, of 866 in the entire district. Statewide CandidatesThe slate of Peace and Freedom Party candidates for statewide partisan public offices are:
The Peace and Freedom Party also recommended a vote for Sarah Knopp for Superintendent of Public Instruction. She is a teacher and a socialist, though not a P&F member, who came in second of five candidates with 695,372 votes (17.3%) statewide for this nominally non-partisan position. In Santa Barbara County, she got 6,253 votes (7.9%). Statewide MeasuresThere were two propositions on the statewide ballot June 6th, assigned proposition numbers 81 and 82. At its April 1st-2nd State Central Committee meeting, the Peace and Freedom Party took a position on one of measures.
