June 6th P&F Results in San Diego CountyLocal CandidatesState SenateThere are no Peace and Freedom Party candidates for State Senate in San Diego County. U.S. House of RepresentativesMiriam Clark of Encinitas is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in the 51st Congressional District, which is entirely within San Diego County, including Del Mar, Solana Beach, Encinitas, Carlsbad, San Marcos, Escondido and part of the city of San Diego (parts of Bay Park, Pacific Beach, La Jolla and University City; Bay Ho, Clairemont Mesa, Del Mar Heights, North City, Carmel Valley, Sorrento Valley, Miramar, Mira Mesa, Rancho Peñasquitos; and part of Rancho San Bernardo). She received 75 votes, all of which were in San Diego County. State AssemblyThere are no Peace and Freedom Party candidates for State Assembly in San Diego County. Local Non-partisan OfficesThe webmaster is not aware of any endorsements by the San Diego County Peace and Freedom Party organization of any candidates for local non-partisan offices which were voted on in the June 6th primary election. Peace and Freedom Party Central CommitteesNo members of the Peace and Freedom Party Central Committees were elected from San Diego County in 2004, and the webmaster is not aware of any candidates only for Central Committees from the county who ran in the June 2006 primary election. However, Mary Lou Finley (1st Supervisorial District), Miriam Clark (3rd Supervisorial District), and Janice Jordan (4th Supervisorial District) became members of the Central Committees when they were nominated for Board of Equalization, Congress and Governor, respectively. Local MeasuresThe webmaster is not aware of any positions taken by the San Diego County Peace and Freedom Party organization on any county, municipal or regional measures that were on the ballot June 6th in San Diego County. Regional CandidateMary Lou Finley is running for Board of Equalization in the 3rd Board of Equalization District, which includes all of San Diego County. She received 302 votes in San Diego County, of 803 in the entire district. Statewide CandidatesThe slate of Peace and Freedom Party candidates for statewide partisan public offices are:
The Peace and Freedom Party also recommended a vote for Sarah Knopp for Superintendent of Public Instruction. She is a teacher and a socialist, though not a P&F member, who came in second of five candidates with 695,372 votes (17.3%) statewide for this nominally non-partisan position. In San Diego County, she got 66,965 votes (18.7%). Statewide MeasuresThere were two propositions on the statewide ballot June 6th, assigned proposition numbers 81 and 82. At its April 1st-2nd State Central Committee meeting, the Peace and Freedom Party took a position on one of measures.
