June 6th P&F Results in Madera CountyLocal CandidatesState SenateThere are no Peace and Freedom Party candidates for State Senate in Madera County. U.S. House of RepresentativesThere are no Peace and Freedom Party candidates for U.S. House of Representatives in Madera County. State AssemblyJohn Crockford won the Peace and Freedom Party nomination for State Assembly in the 29th District, which includes half of Fresno, all of Clovis, most of Madera, and various smaller towns and unincorporated areas in Fresno and Madera Counties. He received 1 vote in Madera County, of 27 in the entire district. Local Non-partisan OfficesThe webmaster is not aware of any endorsements by the Madera County Peace and Freedom Party organization of any candidates for local non-partisan offices, such as Madera County Supervisor, which were voted on in the June 6th primary election. Peace and Freedom Party Central CommitteesNo members of the Peace and Freedom Party Central Committees were elected from Madera County in 2004, but county chair Vickie Fouts was appointed to the Madera County Peace and Freedom Party Central Committee, and her term expired after the June 2006 primary election. The webmaster is not aware of any candidates for Central Committees from the county who ran in the June 2006 primary election. Local MeasuresThe webmaster is not aware of any positions taken by the Madera County Peace and Freedom Party organization on any county, municipal or regional measures that were on the ballot June 6th in Madera County. Regional CandidateRichard Perry is running for Board of Equalization in the 2nd Board of Equalization District, which includes all of Madera County. He received 6 votes in Madera County, of 866 in the entire district. Statewide CandidatesThe slate of Peace and Freedom Party candidates for statewide partisan public offices are:
The Peace and Freedom Party also recommended a vote for Sarah Knopp for Superintendent of Public Instruction. She is a teacher and a socialist, though not a P&F member, who came in second of five candidates with 695,372 votes (17.3%) statewide for this nominally non-partisan position. In Madera County, she got 2,806 votes (17.5%). Statewide MeasuresThere were two propositions on the statewide ballot June 6th, assigned proposition numbers 81 and 82. At its April 1st-2nd State Central Committee meeting, the Peace and Freedom Party took a position on one of measures.
